A Time To Come - Honduras

from €13.00

Altitude - 1400 MASL

Preparation - Washed

Location - Celaque, Lempira, Honduras

Variety - Catuai, Pacas

Profile - Grape, Honey, Brown Sugar

Celaque is one of the most interesting and least known regions in Honduras, a remote corner of the country, one of the poorest and least developed. It has a dramatic landscape with very high mountains and few small valleys, a rugged and underdeveloped infrastructure. This particular blend is made up of the highest scoring coffees from the lots in the region. The farms here follow rainforest alliance and organic practices. The climate is fairly dry allowing for patio drying throughout the drying process, something not common in Honduras.

Celaque means “box of waters” in the Lenca dialect, it is Honduras ́ highest peak, at 2,849 meters (9347ft), at the Celaque Mountain National Park.

What we adore about this coffee, on top of it’s fascinating origin story, is how easy drinking it is. It really stands out with milk but also has enough acidity to be interesting as a black coffee too.

In another world
We could Stand on top of the mountain
With our flag unfurled
In a time to come
In a time to come
