The Love For What You Hide - Ethiopia
Altitude: 2000 MASL
Preparation: Washed
Location: Guji Zone, Haro Wolabu, Ethiopia
Variety: Heirloom
Profile: Peach, Orange Blossom, Black Tea, Honey
Founded in 2020, the Gogugu washing station is located in the Guji Zone of Haro Wolabu woreda, a region recognized as one of Ethiopia's highest-elevation coffee-growing areas, surpassing 2000 meters above sea level. Cherries are delivered from 510 surrounding farms with plots ranging from 0.5 to 2 hectares, showcasing approximately 1800 to 2400 coffee trees per hectare. These farms benefit from the fertile red soil, abundant sunlight, and refreshing cold winds—an ideal environment for exceptional coffee. Grown at around 2000 meters above sea level, this is considered one of Ethiopia's highest-elevation growing areas. The youth of these farms adds to their uniqueness, with most coffee plants only five to ten years old, earning them the title of the 'youngest coffee trees from Ethiopia.' The producers are smallholder farmers supplying the Gogugu Washing Station.
This beautiful, delicate coffee represents for us a great example of a classic, clean, washed Ethiopian filter coffee. Very light in body but full of fruity sweetness with just a hint of florality. It’s delicate and clean profile makes it really easy to drink. Definitely one worth checking out!

“The love for what you hide, the bitterness inside
Is growing like the newborn
When you’ve seen, seen
Too much
Too young, young
Soulless is everywhere”
